The Douro and Our Wines Over Time
Inside the magnificent Quinta da Vacaria winery, which houses the FUMUS restaurant and store, is the Quinta da Vacaria Interpretive Center (Museum). From the balconies facing outward, you can contemplate the picturesque view of the River Douro. In this center, you can enjoy an exhibition that captures the view from inside the Quinta's winery.
Taking advantage of the design of the walls of the space, the exhibition comprises several panels introducing us to the History of the Quinta, the River (nicknamed “the road called the Douro”), The Grape Varieties, The Terroir, The Olive Grove (with its centenary olive trees), and the Wines of Quinta da Vacaria throughout the ages. This theme is complemented by the possibility of interacting with a digital table where you can learn about all the wines and brands of the estate.
To enhance the view of the winery (whose large glass also serves as a projection screen), the exhibition room features soft, welcoming lighting emitted through the interior lighting of the panels themselves, which act as light supports while enhancing the reading experience and the high quality of the images used. Whether as a starting point or a destination, a visit to the Interpretive Center allows you to learn about and appreciate all aspects of our art.
This museum is a journey through time, where the narrative of the past intersects with the present, offering deep insights into the traditions and innovations that have shaped our identity from generation to generation.
