Technical Information

Producer: Quinta da Vacaria
Origin: Douro
Vine Plantation: Patamares
Soil: Schist
Exposure: East-South
Vines Age: More than 30 years
Alcohol: 20%
Analytical Data: Acidez total – 4.8 gr/L, Baumé – 3.0
Bottling Date Janeiro 2019

Grape Varieties – Viosinho, Códega do Larinho and Rabigato.

Vinification - Our Port results from the mixture of white grape varieties from an old vineyard. Given the acidity that we like to keep in this style, the grapes are harvested earlier than usual for our red ports. We intend to show a high acidity directly. A whole bunch pressing guarantees a more delicate wort. Then we promote an alcoholic fermentation, prolonged at controlled temperature (16/18 ºC), to maintain the youthfulness of the fruit. With strict control of density (baumé degree), we decided on the right moment to fortify the must.

Maturation 14/16 months in stainless steel tanks to guarantee the fruit's youthfulness. Light filtration to ensure brilliant color.

Tasting Notes

Colour - Straw yellow, golden nuances.

Aroma - Very fresh, intense aroma, with intense notes of citrus fruits - orange, grapefruit, with nuances of sultanas.

Taste - Intense and fruity palate (candied orange). Good balance between the freshness of the acidity and the sweet finish. Long and elegant finish.

Winemakers - Jean-Hugues Gros & Teresa Pinto.
